PALACES OF NORTHERN RAJASTHAN
Delhi - Kesroli - Alwar - Bharatpur - Fatehpur Sikri - Ranthambore - Bundi - Kota - Bijaipur - Chittorgarh - Bijainagar - Pachewar -Samode - Jaipur- Neemrana - Delhi

The deserts and northern plains of Rajasthan are home to a spectacular collection of princely castles, palaces and forts. From the frescoed walls of Shekavati to the impressive forts of the kingdoms of Marwar and Amber and the Desert City of Jaisalmer, this tour encompasses both the familiar and the lesser known attractions of this diverse and dramatic region.

Rajasthan is a patchwork of major and minor dynasties held together by intermarriage, intrigue and a history redolent with chivalry and conquest. By combining the major cities with several small towns and villages, this tour will enable you to fully appreciate and enjoy the cultural heritage of the region.

Far out in the Great Indian Thar Desert, Jaisalmer rises like a mirage from the sands, a huge fortified city in the middle of nowhere.

Some of the glories of Jaisalmer are the mansions called Havelis of the Rajput Nobles and merchants. Salim Singh-ki-Haveli has a beautiful arched roof and exquisitely carved details, with brackets in the form of peacocks. A large stone Elephant guards the entrance. Also visit the spectacular Patwon-ki-Haveli which has exquisitely carved pillars and extensive corridors and chambers; and the Gadhi Sagar Tank surrounded by a small temple and shrines.
